Dance Africa Winter Concert The University of Oregon will present the annual Dance Africa winter concert on Thursday, Fri day, and Saturday, Jan. 23-25, at 8 p.m. in the Dougherty Dance The atre in Gerlinger Annex on the UO campus, offering Willamette Valley dance enthusiasts a unique oppor tunity to explore multiple cultures of A frica through their traditional dances. Concert tickets cost $ 10 for gen eral admission and $5 for student and seniors, and are available in advance from the UO Ticket Office, 541 -346-4363. Tickets may be avail- able at the door except in the case of a sold out performance. The 2014 concert, which will uti lize over 20 dancers and drummers, will also rely heavily on the talents of new UO faculty member Habib Iddrisu, who has created a new work for the company. Iddrisu, a tradi tionally trained dancer, musician, and historian from Northern Ghana, was bom into a family of court his to ria n s and m u sician s o f the Dagbamba/Dagomba people.
